In view of the upcoming Rathyatra Festival, Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda, accompanied by the SDPO, Jharsuguda and Inspector-in-Charge, Town Police Station, conducted an extensive foot patrol in Sarbahal, Jhanda Chowk, and Shani Mandir on 09.07.2026 to assess security preparedness and strengthen community engagement.
During the visit, the police team interacted with members of the Rathyatra Committees, local residents, and shopkeepers to review the proposed procession route and discuss comprehensive security arrangements. The organizers were advised to ensure adequate CCTV coverage, proper barricading, regulated entry and exit points, public address systems, emergency response preparedness, fire safety measures, traffic and parking management, sufficient lighting, and deployment of volunteers for effective crowd management.
The Superintendent of Police appealed to all citizens and organizers to extend full cooperation with the police and other departments to ensure that the festival is celebrated in a peaceful, safe, and harmonious manner. Jharsuguda Police remains committed to providing robust security and maintaining law and order throughout the festival period.
