 Jharsuguda Police Apprehends Murder Accused Absconding Since 1998

Jharsuguda Police has successfully apprehended an accused who had been absconding since 1998 in connection with a murder case registered under Sections 364/302/201/109/34 IPC.

The accused had escaped from police custody in 1998 while still wearing handcuffs and remained untraceable for nearly 28 years. During his abscondence, he allegedly concealed his identity by changing his name to Raju Gonda and settled in Raigarh. To avoid detection by law enforcement agencies, he is also alleged to have obtained an Aadhaar Card and PAN Card in the assumed name.

After sustained efforts, meticulous verification, and continuous follow-up, Jharsuguda Police traced the accused and successfully apprehended him. He has been produced before the competent court for further legal action.
