Jharsuguda district has brought glory to Odisha by securing the first position in the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar 2025, earning a cash award of ₹3 crore for its outstanding contribution to the education sector.
This recognition highlights the district’s remarkable progress in quality education, innovative learning practices, and community participation. Teachers, education officers, and students have together created an environment where academic excellence is coupled with holistic development.
At the state-level award ceremony, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi felicitated Jharsuguda along with other top-performing districts. While Khordha and Jagatsinghpur secured the second and third positions respectively, Jharsuguda stood tall as the torchbearer of educational transformation in the state.
Local MLA Tankadhar Tripathy expressed pride in the achievement, calling it “a proud moment for every citizen of Jharsuguda”. He emphasized that the award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of teachers, students, and administrators in strengthening the education system.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also launched the Odisha Curriculum Framework for School Education 2025, unveiled a coffee table book on Nipun Odisha, and announced the ‘Padhiba, Gadhhiba Odisha’ campaign, aimed at reinforcing foundational literacy and numeracy across schools.
With the state government allocating a record ₹31,000 crore budget for education this year and implementing reforms such as the Child Tracking Survey to reduce dropouts, Odisha is placing education at the forefront of its development priorities.
Jharsuguda’s success not only brings immense pride to the district but also sets a benchmark for other districts, inspiring continued efforts to ensure quality education for every child.
