Three Convicted in 2020 Murder Case by Jharsuguda Court

 In a significant judgment, the Court of the Learned Additional Sessions Judge, Jharsuguda, today convicted three accused in the sensational murder case registered at Orient Police Station in 2020. The case arose out of Orient P.S. Case No. 180 dated 24.09.2020 under Section 302/34 IPC. 

The incident occurred on 23.09.2020 at about 5.30 PM at Adarsh Club field, where Birbal Pandey was brutally assaulted following previous enmity. During the assault, one of the accused attacked the victim with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries. The victim later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. 

After a thorough investigation by Orient Police, the charge sheet was submitted before the Court. During the trial, the prosecution examined 28 witnesses and relied upon eyewitness, medical, scientific and documentary evidence, resulting in the successful prosecution of the case.

Ajeet Singh @ Khadi

for the offence punishable under Section 302/34 IPC and sentenced each of them to rigorous imprisonment for life along with a fine of ₹10,000, with a further six months' rigorous imprisonment in default of payment of fine.
