The budget outlines a progressive and growth-oriented roadmap with the announcement of 16 major development projects aimed at accelerating infrastructure, industrial expansion, rural development, and social welfare across the state.
A landmark announcement for Western Odisha is the proposal of a Special Economic Zone covering Sundargarh – Jharsuguda – Sambalpur – Bargarh region, which is expected to significantly boost industrial investment, strengthen infrastructure, enhance exports, and create large-scale employment opportunities. This move will act as a catalyst for balanced regional development and economic empowerment of Western Odisha.
It is encouraging to note that Odisha has recorded an impressive economic growth rate of 7.9%, surpassing the national average, reflecting the state’s strong fiscal management and development momentum.
The budget places strong emphasis on agriculture, investment promotion, tourism development, MSMEs, infrastructure, and employment generation, aligning with the broader vision of “Viksit Odisha 2036” and “Viksit Bharat 2047.” The focus on inclusive growth, farmer welfare, industrial expansion, and youth empowerment is a positive step toward sustainable and long-term economic prosperity.
On behalf of the trading and business community, we welcome this forward-looking and development-driven budget and express confidence that it will strengthen Odisha’s position as an emerging economic powerhouse.
