Acting on reliable information, a police team led by SI Pravakar Patra along with accompanying staff conducted a special raid near Chowk No. 5, Rampur Colliery under Brajrajnagar Police Station limits. During the operation, the team intercepted one Hero Pleasure Scooty bearing Registration No. OD-14-3536 and one Hero Super Splendor Motorcycle bearing Registration No. OD-23-E-4970 and recovered the following items noted below.
The accused persons were found transporting the contraband for illegal sale in the local market for monetary gain. Preliminary investigation revealed involvement of other suspected suppliers linked to the illegal narcotics network.
A case has been registered at Brajrajnagar Police Station under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and further investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the racket.
