Under the statewide initiative “JUVENTICA – CWPO Outreach with Adolescents”, a joint outreach programme aimed at promoting child-friendly policing and strengthening engagement with adolescents was conducted across all police stations of Jharsuguda district today.
The programme was formally inaugurated virtually by the Director General of Police, Odisha, who addressed adolescents and police personnel across the State and highlighted the importance of child protection, online safety, mental wellbeing, and community-oriented policing.
As part of the initiative, adolescents were sensitized on issues relating to cyber safety, mental health, body image, and child protection through interactive sessions, awareness videos, and discussions with Child Welfare Police Officers (CWPOs).
Participants were also given guided exposure to police station functioning and informed about various child-friendly policing measures available at police stations.
Jharsuguda Police reiterated its commitment towards ensuring that police stations remain safe, accessible, and supportive spaces for children and adolescents.
The programme witnessed active participation from adolescents, Anganwadi Workers, volunteers, and police personnel across the district.
