After 30 years of the formation of the District, Jharsuguda today it's possible to held one Friendly Exhibition Football Match between H Katapali High School and Ekatali High School at its own ground of District Athletic Association, Jharsuguda at H Katapali. Before the Match the Goal Post ( Bar) puja was conducted by member Sri Sarat Tripathi. Jharsuguda was formed as the District in 1994, the District Athletic Association was formed in 1995 and since then initiations were taken by the Executive Committee to have its own ground, Ex M P Late Sriballav Panigrahi sanctioned 27 lacs from M C L fund being requested by Late Iswari Prasad Patel and Late Dinamani Patel in the tenure of Sri Bijay Behera, Ex Gen Secy and accordingly the Road Side Boundary was erected. After that mutch initiation were not taken excepting cleaning the premises once. After that the some persons tried to acquire the land illegally which were vividly opposed by sports lovers being initiated by Sri Jiban Mohanty. But ater 2017 the newly elected body sincerely and dedicatedly started trying to fulfill the long pending demands of Sports Lovers being supported by Late Kishor Kumar Mohanty, Late Naba Kishor Das, Sri Bibhuti Pattanaik, Sri Saroj Samal and lastly Smt Aboli Sunil Naravane all Collectors, which has ended today. 7 Acres of land were allocated to District Athletic Association for Sports Activities like Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Athletic etc. In today's session Sri Prasant Kumar Panda has joined as the guest,Tapas kumar Roy choudhary,Sarbasri Dileswar Rao, Jiban Mohanty, Ganes Naik, Clement Ronald, Sushanta Mohanty, Prajwal Patel, Mehetab Khan, Sobhan Deb, Mohan Mishra, Sushanta Mali, Bijay Baxi, Bijay Behera, Bijay Dash, Ranjit Sona, Sarat Tripathi, Mangal Oram, P Rajeswar Rao, Manoj Das, Hemraj Sandha, Manas Sinha were Present.Sushree Dipali Das donated of Rs 30 thousands for the Goal Posts fitted in the ground.
