1On 09.07.2025 at 3.30 PM, Complt./minor victim aged about 17 yrs D/o- Rohit Rajak of Korgain, PS- Kande, Dist- Garwah, Jharkhand, A/P- Kabarstanpada, PS- Sadar, Dist- Jharsuguda appeared at Jharsuguda Sadar PS and reported that, his father Rohit Rajak took her to Jharsuguda, Odisha to cook food for him. On 08 07.2025 his father had committed sexual assault on her forcibly without her consent. Hence, she reported this matter at PS for legal action.

Jharsuguda Police Secure Life Imprisonment Conviction in POCSO Case
Jharsuguda Police have achieved a significant legal success with the conviction of the accused to life imprisonment in a serious case registered under the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The case was registered at Sadar Police Station, Jharsuguda, vide U/S 64(2)(f) BNS read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act, on 09.07.2025. Following a meticulous investigation and effective prosecution, the Hon’ble Court awarded life imprisonment to the accused.
This conviction is the result of consistent monitoring, close supervision, and coordinated efforts by the Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda, Addl. SP (IUCAW), SDPO, Jharsuguda, and the IIC, Sadar Police Station, which ensured timely investigation, robust evidence collection, and diligent follow-up during the trial.
