Today at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda 76th Republic Day got celebrated in a grand way. Sandeep Kumar Tiwari, Airport Director hoisted the National Flag in the presence of officials, staff and their family members of Airports Authority of India (Airport Operations, Air Traffic Control, Electrical, Commercial, Fire, Human Resource, Technical, Communication, Navigation & Surveillance), Airport Security Unit (Odisha Police), Airlines (Indigo, Star Air and Alliance Air), Ground Handling Agencies (AIASL, Subhashish) and other stakeholders ((Annual Maintenance Agencies)/concessionnair (VIP Services). Airport Director Shri Tiwari addressed the gathering and reminded of the significance of this day. Shri Tiwari also proudly informed that he is leading a team which connects this airport to India and rest of world. Shri Tiwari said that Jharsuguda Airport is a gateway to Odisha's and India's rich cultural heritage, it's vibrant economy and it's warm hospitality. Shri Tiwari also emphasized to remember our constitutional values: Justice, Freedom, Equality, and brotherhood and asked to all work together to make Jharsuguda Airport an example of progress and development.
Shri Tiwari also welcomed new Airlines, viz. Star Air at this airport and thanked them for increasing 3 new Destination, viz. Hyderabad, Lucknow and Raipur w.e.f. 1st January and 1st February, 2025. Shri Tiwari also congratulated Indigo Airlines for adding Mumbai flight w.e.f. 1st March, 2025.
He also briefed the gathering about various development projects going on at Jharsuguda Airport to increase passenger convenience.,
During the celebration, many Competitions, viz. Rangoli, Counter Decoration) and Cultural Prograames (Solo Dance, Group Dance, Solo Song and Group Song) performed by Staff and officials. The best performers won prizes and got facilitated by Airport Director. The celebration was attended by Smt. Amita Tiwari, Kalyaanmayee President, Shri Subash Bhoi, Chief Airport Security Officer Shakeel Ahmed, Station Manager, Indigo Airlines, Shri Swapnil, Airport Manager, Star Air, and Shri Abhijit Satpathy, Station Manager, Alliance Air.
